Increasing the Hathway Speed

Hi,

I am a hathway customer, and have used the connection for many months. I would like to say even I am really suggesting that Hathway does not provide the speed or the availability as promised during the same.Nonetheless, I would like to say that we can optimize the connection to get the utility completed for the same and have a better experience.

First confirm what speed is being delivered. paste this link to browser for the information. http://192.168.100.1/ . By general information you will be able to state what speed for the download or upload is being provided.

After checking the connection, open the properties of the Network and change the settings preferred and alternate dns from automatic to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (google servers). save and exit.on right clicking the network, repair the network connection.

On repairing the connection, we will be able to access the web much faster and download a bit faster.

Here we can circle the problem of the hathway name servers and will be in better hands of google. Though the download will be only a bit faster.To increase the speed of the connection, download the Google chrome for downloading purpose. or have a managed download manager.

As Hathway tapers down the connection speed (per application) i.e. download speed, this can be only over came by the download manager only or the bittorrent client.As for faster browsing, the other thing that has been noticed is the use of the html only browser can accelerate the browsing experience. Midori is an only html browser.

Please note that after changing the dns ip, on restarting the computer, the net won't work, so when we should activate the "get the dns automatically" options again. It will connect to the network/internet. And again we can change the same again to google server.

By using the above techniques we can speed up our experience with Hathway. If you have any other techniques please share the same here.
