Rolta India   recently got a USD 31 million contract from Memphis Light Gas and Water for Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) Project. KK Singh, CMD of Rolta India told CNBC-TV18 the importance of such a large order, strategies and the future expectations.

Singh expects a margin of 30-35 percent on such a large order. "The order book position is also getting strengthened. We have almost 2,500 crore worth of orders now. Our Q2 finished in December and we will revive board results in the end of this month or Feb," added Singh.

Below is the edited transcript of his interview to CNBC-TV18

Q: What does this take your order book to? What can you tell us in terms of the volume of orders executed in the Q3 compared to the previous quarter?

A: This is an important order for us. It validates couple of our important strategies which we have been following in the last couple of years. We have acquired a lot of companies in North America. The idea was to enter into IT business and get acquisition of customers, technology and people. As a result of that large orders have started coming.

This is a unique order where we are implementing, not only Oracle ERP but also geospatial information system (GIS) and Human Resources, Hyperion and Business Intelligence. So, this shows the depth of the company and the fact that with GIS and engineering capabilities we are able to serve our customers much better. It is better compared to many others who only specialise in IT.

Q: What do you make in terms of margins in such an order?

A: We have IPs into it and we have high end services. So, certainly our margins in such orders are to the extent of about 30-35 percent. We feel happy that the large orders have started coming in. This is one of the unique order implemented.

This will be the first in the United States to be implemented into a municipal utility of this size. This is one of the largest utility in the United States. The order book position is also getting strengthened. We have almost 2,500 crore worth of orders now. Our Q2 finished in December and we will revive board results in the end of this month or Feb. Then we will be able to give exact figure on actual consumption of orders.
