A: We have entered the US market with Big Magic International. After Canada, the US is the second market where we have entered. We have launched a dish network which is a combination of general entertainment content and some Indian English content. It is sourced out of our big CBS channel, some business news and the Big Magic channel in UP, MP and Bihar. These channels have seen some good success in Canada and a very good uptake on two of the biggest platforms in Canada and we are planning to launch a big South Asian track on Dish TV in the US. Q: How is the company's P&L impacted by these kind of ventures? Is the Canadian venture already generating profit for the company? By when will the company start generating profit and how much revenue are you looking for this and next year? A: Both the American and the Canadian venture are making profit from day one. Both are based on subscription and minimum guarantee-based deals to enter these markets. We are following a similar model for entering into other markets a well. There is a huge opportunity for Indian channels for the South Asian Diaspora across the world and we are looking to capitalize on this opportunity. |
