Let Vadra face probe: Anna

Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Saturday demanded a judicial probe into activist Arvind Kejriwal's allegations against Robert Vadra.

Mr Kejriwal had claimed that Mr Vadra had bought property worth crores of rupees with an "unsecured interest free loan" of `65 crore given by realty major DLF.

"Many Congressmen say that the allegations are baseless. If the allegations are not true, why doesn't it (Congress) order a judicial probe into the matter," questioned Mr Hazare in his hometown Ralegan Siddhi. Mr Hazare was reacting to activist-turned-politician Mr Kejriwal's allegation against Mr Vadra, who is the son-in-law of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

"Why doesn't the Congress go to the court? The truth or lies will be revealed after approaching the court," he further added.

Mr Kejriwal had alleged that Mr Vadra received kickbacks from realty major DLF, and that his income rose from `50 lakh to `300 crore, courtesy land allotments.

Mr Hazare went on to say, "File a defamation against Arvind (Kejriwal) if the allegations are proven false." Earlier in the day, Mr Kejriwal too had stated in New Delhi that he ws ready to face a defamation case if his allegations against Mr Vadra were proved untrue.

Criticising the ruling government, Mr Hazare said, "We had raised allegations against 15 corrupt ministers, but the government did not file cases against anyone. Now, two of the ministers have left their posts due the coal scam and the whole country is aware of it."

Mr Hazare's support to Mr Kejriwal's allegation comes in the wake of the alleged rift between the duo. Mr Hazare has stated that he and Mr Kejriwal were taking two different routes toward the same end — weeding out corruption.
