DoT to decide on one-time spectrum fee by Oct-end

The telecom secretary on Tuesday issued clarifications to the queries which were raised by the telcos. The second pre-bid meeting is fixed on September 20. 2G auction NIA will be issued on 28 September, reports CNBC-TV18.

Telecom secretary says that one-time spectrum fee issue not directly linked to auction. The DoT expects to decide on one-time spectrum fee by October-end. He also said that only eight blocks will be available for auction in Delhi & Mumbai and he expects active participation in 2G auction.

He also said that the DoT will issue show cause notices to 3G ICR telcos. The DoT will issue notice to Idea Cellular for violating norms. The Dot will also make available 3.75 MHz more spectrum in 20 circles. The extra 3.75 MHz will not be available for Delhi and  Mumbai.
