2G order: Tata Teleservices files review plea

Tata Teleservices has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the review of the Supreme Court order which cancelled three licenses granted to the telco in 2008, reports CNBC-TV18's Malvika Jain.

Tata Tele has filed a review petition. It is the first company to do so. We have seen Idea filling a clarificatory application, MTS seeking invocation of arbitration clauses.

Tata Tele's petition is based on three grounds. Its CDMA licenses have been cancelled in the circles of Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and North East. Tata Tele is saying that it can not be compared with the newer telecom companies; these licenses where due to the company much before 2008 and it is just a matter of fact that the licenses were issued to the company in 2008.

So, it has challenged the Supreme Courts order canceling its three licenses.
